Miller Awarded The Urology Group Physician Citizen of the Year Award

CINCINNATI (Sept. 14, 2015) – For his ongoing and extensive mission work, Dr. David Miller was presented with The Urology Group Physician Citizen of the Year award.

The award was presented at The Urology Group’s annual dinner held Sept. 12, at The Freedom Center in Cincinnati to recognize a member of The Urology Group team for philanthropy or public service during the past year.

Throughout his adult life, Dr. Miller, one of The Urology Group’s 39 physicians, has responded to the call to help others. His mission work has taken him to Puerto Rico, South Africa, New Orleans, and, most recently, Nicaragua. Since 2011, Dr. Miller has partnered with Amigos for Christ to lead surgical and non- medical teams to Chinandego, Nicaragua, where teams provide medical care and non-medical support for the community.

As part of his mission service, Dr. Miller provides urological treatment using viable but outdated techniques and procedures due to the lack of technological advances available to physicians at Hospital España, a 100-bed hospital serving a population of approximately 350,000. In addition to his surgical work, Dr. Miller serves the community by working with teams to improve the clean water and sanitation conditions, increasing access to fundamental education and improving economic development.

Dr. Miller joined The Urology Group in 1998 and currently works in the Middletown office. He has been certified by the American Board of Urology and is licensed in the state of Ohio. He is a member of the American Urological Association, the American Association of Clinical Urologists and the Large Urology Group Practice Association, and serves on the Board of Directors for the Southwest Ohio Ambulatory Surgery Center. Dr. Miller also serves as the Chief of Surgery at Atrium Medical Center and Vice-Chair of the Surgical Governance Board of Atrium Medical Center.
