Seeking a Pill-Free Treatment for ED?

February 22, 2022 | By: Dr. Ryan Flynn

If your Valentine’s Day intimacy depended on a pill, you may want to consider taking a “pulse.”

“Pulse” describes the sensation of our latest treatment for erectile dysfunction – a breakthrough therapy called Alma Duo that is pain free, long term, and fast.

Alma Duo is an alternate treatment for the estimated 30 million men who experience occasional or permanent erectile dysfunction, many of whom rely on the “little blue pill,” pumps, or even surgery to treat the condition. The Urology Group introduced Alma Duo at our Norwood campus.

What You Want to Know About Alma Duo

The FDA-approved Alma Duo procedure is designed to address the cause of erectile dysfunction, which is lack of blood flow, with the goal of removing anxiety and restoring spontaneity to one’s sex life. If you are thinking about Alma Duo for yourself or a loved one, here are some basics that can help you decide if you should take the next step toward a consultation.

  • The treatment is painless. The Alma Duo delivers low-intensity shock-waves (pulses) that produce a light tapping or tingling sensation. These waves cause responses that stimulate new blood vessel growth, improving blood flow in the penis. There are no needles, no surgery; topical anesthesia isn’t even required.
  • No “wait” time. As an alternative to medications, Alma Duo does not require a 60-minute “build” time, as many medications do, so there is no interrupting “the moment.” Further, the entire treatment plan can take less than a month – two visits per week for three weeks.
  • There’s no invasion. Alma Duo is a therapy that takes place in our comfortable spa-like setting.  Each treatment session takes just 15 minutes. There is no need to rest or recover afterward, so the patient can return to his normal routine immediately. Theoretically, a treatment can be done during a lunch break.
  • It’s budget-friendly. While the Alma Duo treatment is not covered by insurance, a reimbursement from a health savings account (HSA) may be available.

Restored Intimacy Restores Health

The desire for intimacy doesn’t stop at a certain age or with conditions such as diabetes or vascular disease. Men and women enjoy sexual intimacy well into their 70s and beyond. The approach and preferences may change, but the act itself remains an effective prescription for pleasure, happiness, and health. And that’s worth tapping into.

You can learn more about the Alma Duo procedure, fill out a questionnaire, and request a free virtual consultation on our dedicated Alma Duo page here
