Three Urologists Recognized for Expertise in Treating Bladder Control
April 11, 2025
Overactive bladder patients have a few new friends in Dr. Rebecca Roedersheimer, Dr. Anne Scott, and Dr. Daniel Szabo. All are urologists specializing in female urinary incontinence and pelvic floor dysfunction and have achieved Center of Excellence designation from Medtronic for their use of InterStim™ treatment for bladder control. They represent three of only four physicians in Cincinnati who have earned this elite designation.
InterStim is a device that helps treat urinary and fecal incontinence, and overactive bladder. A type of sacral neuromodulation therapy, this treatment uses mild electrical impulses to stimulate the sacral nerves, which control bladder and bowel function. Since its introduction in 1997, it has been chosen by more than 400,000 patients worldwide. Together, Drs. Roedersheimer, Scott, and Szabo have treated more than 500 patients with InterStim.
Center of Excellence designation is awarded by its manufacturer, Medtronic, to physicians who have proven exemplary use of InterStim over a 12-month period. Only physicians who demonstrate commitment and tremendous care of patients suffering from symptoms of incontinence and overactive bladder are considered candidates.
“We’re honored to receive the Medtronic InterStim Center of Excellence designation,” said Dr. Brooke Edwards, Chief Medical Officer of The Urology Group. “We strive to educate our patients about overactive bladder and fecal incontinence and provide the highest quality of care to achieve the best outcomes for patients.”
